Selkirk College Evacuation
On February 8th in the afternoon, Selkirk College announced that the Trades Buildings at the Silver King Campus in Nelson were evacuated due to explosions. The fire department responded and is on site. All students are safe, and no injuries have been reported. Students from School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia) attend trades-related programs at the campus.
Students may have differing responses to an unexpected event like this. If your youth requires any additional support in response to this event, please contact the school principal to arrange for these services.
