Long-Range Facility Plan: North End
SD20’s Castlegar schools are getting crowded as enrollment mounts. Even though our projections show a decline in enrollment, this doesn't take into account the growing population of people moving here. Some key factors that are drawing more families to the region are additional businesses opening, new housing developments and the rise of remote work options. The Ministry of Education and Child Care also requests school districts take into
consideration childcare options for children under five years old, as well as before and after school care.
SD20’s Long-Range Facility Plan (LRFP) provides a district-wide framework for making decisions about our schools over the next decade. It has also been created to provide a consistent and organized approach in determining local and provincial funding priorities. Please see the below links to current information relating the North End section of the LRFP.
SD20 wants your input so we can develop plans that reflect the best interests of the students, teachers, parents, and the broader community. Follow the link below to take our five-minute survey. Please note, this survey will be open until May 15, 2023, and feedback will be shared with the Board of Education at the next Regular Open Board Meeting on May 29th at 6:00 pm at J.L. Crowe.
