District Resource Centre

School District 20, (Kootenay-Columbia) provides professional leadership and funding to support learning and instruction throughout the school district.  The District Resource Centre's primary goal is to work with classroom teachers, district programs and schools to enhance student learning experiences.  This goal is achieved by providing relevant, contemporary learning resources which are distributed equitably and are accessible to all schools.
 

The District Resource Centre is located at the Blueberry Creek Student Support Centre and is staffed by a qualified British Columbia teacher and district library technician/administrative assistant. The hours of operation are 11:00 am to 3:00 pm every Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Friday. Resources may be requested by:

Wild Voices for Kids

Wild Voices for Kids (WVFK) is an enviornmental and heritage education program that provides K-12 teachers through the Columbia Basin with FREE, curriculum-linked classroom presentaions and field trips designed to enrich their students' learning. The varieity of WVFK presentations is extensive, ranging from a tracking field trip with a wildlife biologist or birding expeditions with local ornithologists, to a classroom visit by Little Red Riding Hood coplete with an actual wolf or presntations on the flora, fauna and culture of Canada's Arctic regions. Our database of presenters continues to grow, so check back often for new and exciting programs.
